Try my Hand at HAND EMBROIDERY

I do have an embroidery machine but I decided to go old school and do some hand embroidery. Everyday I recieve Craft Magazine Daily and today there was a link to cinderberrystitches and a tutorial and pattern for this. So I gave it a try and backed the burp cloth with some Michael Miller fabric and I think it turned out ok!

Enjoying Sewing!

Although I do not sell too many of my sewn things on etsy, I am starting to get a little bit of inventory for an upcoming craft show. With 12 ladies at church pregnant, I don't think I will have a problem finding who to give it to! I like to take a break from embroidery and sew for fun. It has taken a while but slowly but surely it is becoming easier and faster. (and better) Did tons of baking today and filled two orders tonight and now I am getting quite tired! Here are some pics of my projects. Everything I have done recently you can see here on my Flickr Page.

More Fabric Flowers

Found another tutorial for layered fabric flowers. I made these to embellish my hooded towels. I think it will be a really cute girly addition.

Pink Week

Since reopening my etsy shop I have been pretty busy. I hit 100 sales yesterday after only 5 months (one month of which my shop was closed). This week has been a girly pinky week and I love every minute!

Super Special Hooded Towel with Fabric Flower

I found these really cute bath towels the other day and bought the only two that were left. I made a fabric flower using this tutorial . It was really fun and I can't wait to make more and different flower.

Back to Wifey Duty

I was getting behind on closing gifts for John's clients so today John took the boys for a while and I got a good start. Here are most of them. We are replacing some carpet tomorrow so we are a little crazy over here moving furniture and such. I am ready to really settle down for a little while.

Purse for my Sister

Since her birthday is in two days, I thought I had better get crackin'! I used a Simplicity Pattern with Michael Miller Fabric from Field's Fabrics. I just used cotton webbing for the handle instead of making them, it definitely saves a ton of time. She is still young, thus the super bright colors. I love it so much, I hate to give it away!

Zebra - Zebra - Zebra

I have had this fabric for FOREVER and finally decided what I wanted to use it for. I made another changing pad / burp cloth combo with coordinating zebra prints. It went faster and easier this time since I wrote down all of my measurments down yesterday so I did not have to start from scratch again.
P.S. After having been away from etsy for forever, I listed some new things yesterday and my hits went from somewhere under 10 to 72!! Yeah!!

Changing Pad & Burp Clothes

Today I started on my new endeavor. I am sewing changing pad and burp cloth sets that I will be listing on etsy but also planning for the Adam's Craft Show. I really love to sew new things and I like how these turned out. I added a strap onto the pad that wraps around and velcros onto itself to hold it in a roll. A really good idea for a baby gift if I need one spur of the moment.

(another) Diaper Bag for Tressa

I bought this fabric last year and finally got around to making this bag. I tried a new font called "love letter" with hearts built into each of the letters. It ended up taking over an hour to get her name done with each letter averaging 7-8 minutes. I do NOT plan on using this one again, just too time consuming1 I also added a flower to it that I seen at Field's Fabric on a little girl dress (that I have the pattern for but ...) I sort of winged it and it turned out cute.

All it did was use my wave rotary cutter and cut circles that slowly got smaller. I used pink, purple and the print I used on the bag. Inbetween the fabric circles I added little bits of tulle that I have left over from making Tressa's tutu. (which happened to be the exact colors of the print) I threaded them all on the needle and added a flower shaped button on top and whazaa! not too bad!
